What are the benefits of blogging for students?
In Will Richardson's book Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms (2010, p.20), he cites research done by learning specialists Fernette and Brock Eide (2005). They found that blogs can promote critical and analytical thinking in students. They can also be a powerful promoter of creative thinking and promote analogical thinking. Blogging by students can be a powerful medium for increasing access and exposure to quality information. In addition, blogging has the effect of combining the best of solitary reflection and social interaction.
